Origins of Life
The scientific conference Origins of Life Donostia Meeting 2023 will bring together over a hundred prominent international researchers who specialise in the chemical processes that gave rise to our existence. The symposium forms part of the Passion for Knowledge 2023 festival programme and will be held at Miramar Palace (Donostia-San Sebastian) from 2 to 4 October, within the framework of the Summer Courses of the University of the Basque Country (UPV-EHU).
The meeting will be the closing event of the European project entitled Marie Curie ITN, which focuses on the physical and chemical roots of the metabolism (https://protomet-etn.eu/), but will be open to the entire scientific community working in the field of research into the origins of life.
The programme covers topics linked to "proto-metabolic systems", as well as a wide range of other questions, and includes both experimental and theoretical contributions, along with more conceptual or philosophical reflections about hitherto unanswered questions that continue to pose a challenge and arouses general interest within the community focused on exploring the origins of life.
