In 2026, Passion for Knowledge presents New Voices, a space bringing together leading figures in science and science communication with innovative, diverse and personal ways of creating knowledge and bringing it closer to society. The programme will combine interdisciplinary dialogues with talks by some of today’s most prominent science communicators.
The section kicks off on Tuesday, September 29, with a dialogue between palaeoanthropologist María Martinón-Torres, director of the National Research Centre for Human Evolution (CENIEH) and a member of the Atapuerca Research Team, and physicist Román Orús, Ikerbasque Research Professor at the DIPC, co-founder of Multiverse Computing and a member of the United Nations Independent International Scientific Panel on Artificial Intelligence. From the search for our origins to the challenges posed by artificial intelligence, the two researchers will bring together two fields that invite us to reflect on who we are and where we are heading.
On Saturday, October 3, it will be the turn of Eduardo Sáenz de Cabezón, who will join New Voices to share his unique approach to bringing mathematics to a broad audience. Professor of Mathematics at the University of La Rioja, presenter of RTVE’s Órbita Laika, and creator of the YouTube channel Derivando, he is one of Spain’s most popular science communicators and has shown millions of people that mathematics can also be a source of curiosity, beauty and fun.
With this new section, Passion for Knowledge reinforces its commitment to accessible, rigorous science communication capable of connecting different disciplines and audiences.
